The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a test conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). The test is conducted at the National level to ensure that meritorious students are admitted to the various constituent institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). The test is conducted in various cities to ensure that maximum number of student get the advantage to appear for the entrance test and thereby get admitted to the prestigious institutions of Symbiosis International ( Deemed University).

There are fourteen Part-time one year Diploma Programs and two Post-Graduate Diploma Programme available as value- addition. Many students pursue these programs alongside their Undergraduate or Masters Program.

 

Eligibility:

For BA and BBA LLB:

The candidate should have passed 12th (10+2) examination from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC /ST students) in one attempt (No Compartment). Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the announced date.

 

Age Limit: Candidate should be less than 20 years of age at the time of appearing for SET as on 02 May 2010. (2 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates ie 22 years)

The total intake is 200 seats (Inclusive of 150 seats of BBA LLB and 50 seats of BA LLB)

10+2 in any discipline from any recognized Board /Council / University with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate marks, or equivalent grades, are eligible to seek admission. Step 1   A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session viz Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper from the afternoon session viz. General or Design Register at www.set-test.org

This will generate your SET ID

You need to upload latest scanned photograph (in the given format and size) of own at the time of online registration.

Step 2 Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 1400/- towards the Test Fee and the prospectus of undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) The SIDU Admission Cell will courier a copy of prospectus to the address registered at www.set-test.org
You have four (4) choices for payment. For different modes of payment, different ‘Payment Advice’ formats are created. Choose a payment mode and print a ‘Payment Advice’ form online.

 

1. CASH:

This ‘Payment Advice’ form is in three parts. Pay Rs 1400/- in cash at Axis Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two parts of the ‘Payment Advice’ form to you. The ‘Student copy’ is your receipt.

How to apply to Undergraduate Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University)

You may apply online for admission to an undergraduate institute of the University. The application fee is Rs 1000/- per institute, except for SICSR. (The application fee for SICSR is Rs 1500/- for one/two programmes). The last date for applying online is May, 12 2010. After declaration of the SET result, the institute to which you have applied will conduct further selection process for short listed candidates. The schedule for the same will be published on the websites of the institute.

Applying to any undergraduate institute of the University is online. There are two options to apply.
1. From SET website

While paying SET fees online, a candidate may also pay the application fee for admission to a desired institute.

Even after closing of the payment for SET, a candidate may still apply through SET website.

2. From the institute website.

A candidate may also register separately for SET and applying to an institute. However, SET registration and appearing for the test is mandatory.

It is important to see that a candidate appears for the appropriate SET paper to seek admission.

An institute may also be offering more than one programme. A candidate should ensure the desired programme is selected.

You cannot apply to an institute that does not accept the score of the test that you choose to give. For example, if you choose to give the General test only, you cannot apply to SLS. Similarly, if you choose to give the Law test only, you cannot apply to SSE or SCMS (UG) or SICSR.
You may give both tests and apply to all the four institutes.

Similarly, you may give the Design test and the Engineering/ Health Sciences test and apply to SID, SIT/SIHS.

The application form should be sent by Registered post/Speed post only (not by courier). The same can also be dropped in the locked Drop-Box kept at the RMAT-2010 Office. In any case, the application form should not be handed over to any person. The coordinator RMAT-2010 shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

Admissions to Under Graduate Courses in Private, Unaided, Medical and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka for the Academic Year 2010-2011 through COMEDK under graduate entrance test and centralized counseling (COMEDK UGET-2010)

 

Karnataka private medical and dental colleges association and Karnataka unaided private engineering colleges association have set up COMEDK to organize a common entrance test and centralized counseling, that would facilitate selection of candidates on merit for admissions to undergraduate courses offered by member institutions (medical, engineering and dental). COMEDK entrance and publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (single window system).

Admission to Professional Courses in Karnataka for the Year 2010-11

1.      Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the “Common Entrance Test-2010″ for admissions to first year Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy and Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2010-10

2.      A candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and they must compulsorily obtain CET-2010 brochure and submit the filled application form. (Visit KEA website for list of institutions conducting NATA)

3.      The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions of the “Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006″.
 
Eligibility: Academic Eligibility:-

(a)  For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/12th std or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as Optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Cate PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test.

(b)  For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy and Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.

For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2010.

(c)   For Engineering / Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

(d)  For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1.      A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2010 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during the year.
2.      The merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects, taken together, in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.
 
How To Apply:
SUPPLY OF BROCHURE CUM APPLICATION FORM
Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs 650/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and Rs 500/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1. The repeater and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2010 should also submit the demand draft for the above said amount to the respective schools / colleges. The Last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 03.03.2010.

The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates ie, who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by “SPEED POST”, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs 750/- drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs 5,000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2010 BROCHURE” and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by “Speed Post” ONLY The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and will be 05.03.2010
